Blight

Custom Destiny 2 Element

Blight represents our Guardian stealing the power of the darkness and the taken, using it against its creator. Where the Light elements are more meta physical, the Darkness Element (Stasis) are physical representations of those elements in the world. I wanted to approach this similar concept with Blight, having much of its power be represented in physical elements that players can interact with. Blight is a mirror to the updated Solar 3.0 element, with the bringing of life and healing there is now decay and death. Both elements utilize damage over time, but where Solar has Radiant and a feeling of Perfection, Blight gives its enemies the feeling of fatigue and loss of control.

More detailed information on  game data such as damage numbers, cooldowns, durations, etc. can be found here.

The Conjuror - Warlock Subclass

The Conjuror’s abilities are all about controlling the battlefield, whether that is in PVP or PVE, they are adept at creating long last pools of blight with either their Wither Melee or the Burial Rites Super, while they float above the battlefield in their alternate class ability (from their Aspect) Rise from the Grave, allowing them a birds eye view while benefitting from both possible rifts (even if neither is currently attached).

The Conjuror may also choose to focus on the Taken Menagerie of monsters, utilizing their Taken Gamble Super, spawning two of the most fearsome combatants Guardians can face, as well as several shadow beasts, thralls, and even mind controlled enemies.

The Trickster - Hunter Subclass

Tricksters are masters at manipulating their enemies and evading fire with their Mirror clones. In PVP, with access to their Mirror Dodge and Trick House abilities, Trickster hunters can masterfully outmaneuver their enemies by spawning exact mirrors of themselves giving their enemies only a 50/50 sometimes less shot at firing at the right trickster, all while raining down extra grenades with their bag of tricks.

For those that don’t want to rely on their reflecting good looks and charm, they may slip away with their Trap Door, only to drop the Sword of Damocles on an unsuspecting victim, and vanish in a puff of debilitating smoke. Tricksters make excellent use of the Disoriented debuff which can enable them to use their quick thinking and a skillful dash to convince an enemy guardian into targeting its own ally.

The Siege Breaker - Titan Subclass

Siege breakers, much like other titans are masters of the melee, pushing themselves into places they really shouldn’t be. These Blight Titans are all about slowly forcing their enemies back as they take ground for their allies, acting as a bulwark of strength, I wouldn’t recommend trying to face down a Tyrant Monstrosity in single combat, as they’re bound to bring the house down with them. This Titan subclass is somewhat how I imagine the Kool-Aid man if they had made their way into the destiny universe.

Blight Fragments and Grenades

As with all Destiny 2 Elements, Blight has its own selection of Fragments and Grenades to choose from, each adjusting the playstyle of the Guardian they are attached to.

Fragments -

Fragments augment a Guardian’s subclass and can be attached to any subclass, depending on that Guardian’s Aspect, with each Aspect have a number of Fragment slots that it can use.

Grenades -

Grenades are a basic ability for Guardians, with each element have a slew of grenades to choose from, available to all Guardians of that element. These grenades can often have significant impact on a player’s build as they synergize with certain other Aspects, Fragments, or Abilities.
